When her young daughter, Jessica, was labeled with “a behavior problem” in school because she couldn’t learn or be successful in a traditional classroom, Terry Adams became educated in education. By the time Jessica’s autistic diagnosis was confirmed, Terry had already begun the career change to teaching; not only so her daughter could feel success but for all students who think and learn differently. Terry became certified in Elementary Education (K-8), has earned a Master of Education in Early Childhood Education from Northern Arizona University, and a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Arizona State University. Her classrooms have always included students who learn differently. Her lessons utilize diversified instruction, real world examples, and hands-on activities.
Originally from Michigan, Terry Adams relocated with her family to Arizona in 1997.
