This workshop presents an innovative, field-tested model to examine and identify each child’s “motivational” style and design strategies that inspire his or her potential. It begins with an exploration of some of the common misconceptions related to student motivation as well as pointing out ineffective strategies. “On the Waterbed: The Impact of LD on the Family”
Designed for parents. Professionals also welcome. Parents of children with learning differences often experience a variety of intense and conflicting emotions in the course of supporting their child. By using the analogy of a waterbed, Rick illustrates how a child struggling in school can disrupt the entire balance at home and at school. It takes professionals and parents working together to foster a spirit of sensitivity, cooperation and common sense of purpose. Topics include:
