George Heslop
Art Teacher
George joined Lexis in 2010 and has established a world-class visual arts program at the school. George emphasizes the importance of the visual arts and how it connects and integrates with all of the core subject areas taught at Lexis.  He ensures that students possess a well rounded and holistic visual arts experience that incorporates painting, sculpture, drawing, mixed media, and paper collage.  He has also facilitated several community art projects giving the students hands on experiences with collaboration and teamwork as it relates to the arts.  These community projects included, “Starry Night Over Lexis” and a Kadinsky Abstract Acryllic canvas mural.

With over 20 years of experience as an art educator, George has taught students in grades K-8 in several Valley locations, with his most recent experience at the Imagine School in Bell Canyon.  George holds a CNA diploma in education and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Sunderland University.  He also earned a Masters of Arts degree with distinction in fine arts from Northumbria University in Newcastle, England.  George loves all art but has a special fondness for painting, drawing, and sculpture.  He strives to show students that art is all around them and touches their lives in many ways.

When not working on one of his famous chocolate sculptures, George can be found at a museum, movie, or baseball game.  He also enjoys watching American football and the World Cup soccer matches.
