Marilyn joined the Lexis staff in January, 2012 as a teacher for 4/5 students.  She is a recent graduate from ASU where she obtained her BAE in Special Education.  She has taught students with a variety of learning differences including autism, ADD/ADHD and speech delays.  Marilyn interned in several Phoenix and Tempe schools where she instructed students with special needs in a 4/5 resource room, kindergarten setting and high school English resource room. She also student taught in the Kyrene School District at Kyrene de las Brisas where she worked in a K-3 resource room and in a general education 2nd grade classroom. Marilyn has always had a passion for working with kids in outdoor recreation settings and has spent previous summers as a counselor and swim coach in places such as Alaska.  When not in the classroom, Marilyn can be found at the Arizona Snowbowl where she works as a professional snowboarding instructor during the winter season.  She also enjoys cooking, swimming, and bike riding.
